Painting the Future: ACPL Empowers Next Generation with Creativity at The Salvation Army Gracehaven Children’s Home

On 23 June 2026, ASEAN Cableship Pte Ltd (ACPL) brought together employees and 38 children and youths from The Salvation Army Gracehaven Children’s Home, aged between 10 and 19, who are receiving residential care and support due to complex family situations. Through a tote bag art jam session, participants shared a meaningful morning filled with creativity, interaction, and positive engagement.
The event formed part of ACPL’s ongoing commitment to community engagement and held special significance as the company celebrates its 40th Anniversary under the theme, “40 Years Leading Global Connectivity – Heritage, People, Fleet and Future.” In line with the “Future” pillar of its 40th Anniversary journey, this initiative aimed to encourage creativity, self-expression, and confidence among the young residents of Gracehaven.
Equipped with paintbrushes, vibrant colours, and plenty of imagination, ACPL employees guided and encouraged the children and youths throughout the activity, helping them bring their ideas to life on plain tote bags that soon became unique and personalized creations. The youths enthusiastically expressed themselves through their artwork, while ACPL employees enjoyed the opportunity to encourage their ideas, celebrate their creativity, and learn more about their interests and aspirations.
Beyond the artwork itself, the activity created opportunities for meaningful interactions and fostered an environment where creativity became a platform for confidence-building, personal expression, and positive engagement.
