Offshore Electrical Engineer

Reports To: Chief Engineer/Senior Electrical Engineer

Join our team as an Electrical Engineer and play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of all electrical and electronic systems onboard. As part of the engine room department, you’ll report to the Senior Electrical Engineer and take responsibility for a wide range of critical systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair electrical/electronic equipment, including generators (high/low voltage), propulsion systems, steering gear, thrusters, and engine room machinery.
  • Oversee power distribution control panels, propulsion control consoles, and ship-wide wiring.
  • Inspect and test systems such as telegraphs, emergency generators, fire alarms, and batteries.
  • Implement planned maintenance schedules, diagnose and repair faults, and recommend overhauls as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and classification society standards.
  • Monitor and manage electrical stores, consumables, records, and manuals.
  • Stay updated with advancements in electrical and electronic technologies.
  • Act as Senior Electrical Engineer when required.

 

Requirements:

  • High Voltage Certification, STCW and COC ETO certification required.
  • Proven expertise in marine electrical systems maintenance and repair.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and classification standards.
  • Ability to diagnose faults and perform planned maintenance.
  • Excellent organizational and technical documentation skills.
