A New Leadership Chapter: ASEAN Cableship Announces CEO Transition

ASEAN Cableship Pte Ltd today announced the appointment of Mr Yue Meng Fai as Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 March 2026, marking a new leadership chapter for the company as it continues to strengthen its role in global submarine cable connectivity.

Mr Yue has extensive experience in submarine cable engineering and global connectivity infrastructure, having led multiple major international cable consortia and implemented complex cable systems such as SMW4, SMW5, SJC, and including the recently commissioned SJC2 cable system. He was instrumental in setting up submarine cable consortia for long haul cable systems spanning across Asia, Middle East and Europe including the on-going SEA-ME-WE 6 cable system. In his senior roles he has overseen complex, multi-regional projects designed to support growing demands from cloud services, 5G, data-centers and data-driven economies, while navigating evolving regulatory and geopolitical environments. His deep technical expertise and consortium leadership experience equip him well to guide ASEAN Cableship as it expands its capabilities and supports the next generation of global digital connectivity.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr Yue said:

“ASEAN Cableship has built a strong reputation for technical excellence, safety and reliability under Mr Too’s leadership. I am honoured to take on this role and look forward to working with the team to further strengthen our capabilities, expand into new frontiers, and support our customers as global connectivity continues to grow—both to new heights and new depths.”

As part of this leadership transition, Mr Too Shiun Jye will be stepping down as Chief Executive Officer, with effect from 28 February 2026, after serving as CEO since 2011.

During his tenure, Mr Too led ASEAN Cableship through a period of significant transformation and growth, strengthening its position as one of the world’s leading fiber-optic submarine cable installation, repair and maintenance providers. Under his leadership, the company expanded its operational capabilities, reinforced its commitment to safety, quality and certification standards, and laid the strategic groundwork for entry into deep-water cable laying to support the rapid growth of global digital connectivity.

Reflecting on his time with the company, Mr Too said:

“It has been a privilege to lead ASEAN Cableship and work alongside such a dedicated team of professionals. With the strong support of our shareholders and partners, we have built a resilient organisation that plays a critical role in keeping the world connected. I am confident that ASEAN Cableship is well-positioned for its next phase of growth.”

The Board of Directors expressed its sincere appreciation to Mr Too for his vision, leadership and lasting contributions to ASEAN Cableship over the past 18 years.

ASEAN Cableship extends its heartfelt gratitude to Mr Too for his dedicated service and warmly welcomes Mr Yue as the company continues its mission to connect the world through critical submarine cable infrastructure in this new chapter.
